OUR WORK

Facilitating the creation of inclusive environments and empowering the next generations of Sikh Americans.

  • Equipping Teachers & Classrooms

From our founding, Kaur Foundation has been concerned about the lack of knowledge about Sikh-Americans in our schools and classrooms. We work with teachers, schools, and districts to increase their capacity to include education about Sikhs in the curriculum by offering professional development workshops and providing classroom materials.

  • Raising Awareness & Fostering Dialogue

Kaur Foundation seeks to raise awareness of cultural and religious literacy about and within the Sikh-American community. We participate in professional conferences such at the National Council for the Social Studies, host public events, and reach out to local and state departments of education to share our classroom resources and encourage dialogue about the important of recognizing Sikhs in the curriculum and building inclusive communities.
We are also developing new programs to enable high school and college students to get involved in our work and engage with their peers and communities.
